RUSIZI- Rwanda Air has launched a second flight for Kigali-Kamembe route, adding to the daily 8:30 am flight. The new flight which will be departing every Tuesday and Saturday at 2:00 pm came as a response to the airline’s clients’ request.
"Many working class people fail to get transport means to Kigali during the weekend. It’s tiresome going on a six hour road trip after work,” said Florentin Shenyi, Kamembe Station Manager.
The second flight is a solution to the business world.
"I would usually miss the 8:30 flight because of the time schedule, my workload and crossing the border from my residence in Bukavu.
Flying in the afternoon will at least make life a lot easier,” said a passenger of Belgian origin who only identified himself as Etienne.
Increased Air trips will also solve the failure of customers acquiring air tickets during the high season {season when many people are boarding flights}.
Meanwhile, a big percentage of middle class interviewees associated air travel to the extremely wealthy.
RwandaAir further called upon companies and institutions to contract it for safe travels which they would pay for on a monthly basis.
On May 31, RwandAir will also launch their first Kamembe-Bujumbura and Kigali-Gisenyi flights.
