Police 1-2 La Jeunesse

Today
AS Kigali vs Amagaju (Mumena)
Marine vs Kiyovu (Umuganda)

APR are on course of retaining their Primus National Football League title.

The army side beat Etincelles 2-0 courtesy of Johnson Bagoole’s goal and an own goal by Yusuf Tuyishime. The win took them to 51 points and closer to an unprecedented fourth successive Primus league title.

Ernie Brandts’ side is now 15 points clear of Kiyovu who entertain Marine this afternoon at Umuganda Stadium.

Anything short of three points for the green baggies will all but seal a fourth league title in a row and Brandts’ first since taking charge of the club at the beginning of the season.

Should it come down to goal difference, APR is still in the driving seat with 31 compared to Kiyovu’s 14.

APR’s remaining league games are against La Jeunesse, Police, arch-rivals Rayon Sport and Marines.

Elsewhere, Police squandered a good chance to close in on Kiyovu after yesterday’s 1-2 loss against La Jeunesse at Kigali Regional Stadium.

Yusuf Nshimiyimana and Pappy Mambo were on target for La Jeunesse while Fabrice Dusingizimana netted Police’s consolation.

The defeat ended Police’s five-match winning streak and left the side in third place with 33 points.

Meanwhile, Mukura moved out of the relegation zone after a hard fought 1-0 victory over AS Muhanga in the Southern Province. They are now ninth with 14 points.

Rayon also got back to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 victory over relegation battling Musanze.

Selemani Kiguta, Peter Kagabo and Dady Kibaya were on target for the blues who lost to Kiyovu in midweek. The win moved them into fifth place with 24 points.

Action continues today when AS Kigali hosts Amagaju at Mumena stadium.
