Dear editor,
This week the former Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Kofi Annan, revealed that the Kenyan rivals had reached an agreement. They agreed on power sharing to resolve their political disputes.
This could be a significantly positive development like Annan says since it is likely to end the mass killings in Kenya.
However, the agreement should be clearly spelt out. For example, the prime minister’s post created for Odinga should spell out his duties clearly lest there are subsequent grumbles that might again degenerate into open quarrels.
Everyone must try their level best to make the power sharing arrangement work, because we are tired of the deaths and disruption the episode has caused in the region.
