As countdown to the awards begins, many artists and music fans are anxiously waiting to witness another exciting moment, as lucky artists bag grand prizes.
Speaking to The New Times, one of the organisers, Ally Soudy said the event has secured sponsorship, which implies its success.
"We have already made deal with MTN, Star Africa, and MINISPOC as some of the major sponsors,” he added.
Soudy noted that MTN would also award the artist with the highest number caller tunes shoppers between May1- 19 will be given a cash prize of Rwf500, 000.
Various performers, including Kizito Mihigo, Kitoko, Urban Boys, Knowles, Riderman and Makanyaga Abdul are expected to entertain the audience at the gala night.
The awards will be presented in the following major categories:
Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, Song of the Year, Best Album of the year, Best Group and Best New Artist.
The annual Salax Awards is organised by Ikirezi Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
