Mfutila is right

Dear Editor,

I agree with APR coach Andia Mfutila when he called upon all Rwandans to rally behind the country’s representatives in the Caf competitions yesterday.

This weekend, APR plays against Egyptian side El Zamalek in Caf Champions league in Cairo while Rayon Sport plays against Ethiopian Harar beer in Kigali at Nyamirambo stadium.

This is the right time to show our true pride ness by supporting our country’s clubs in the continental championship.

Despite the rivalry within several clubs in our country’s league, we should not take this enemity to the continental level.

The enemity between Rayon and APR should not take its toll in the Caf interclubs competition because this were the country’s football standards should be displayed.

Once our teams go and face rough exits in the first round of the competition, it all comes back to us and nobody will want his/her club to face exit from such lucrative African championships every year.

Thus I think we should support our clubs, Rayon Sport on Saturday in Kigali and APR in Cairo on Sunday.

I know that the enemity between club fans is not even displayed among coaches. Coaches are united in one umbrella with an aim of elevating the football standards of the country and thumbs-up for them because they are doing a credible job.

So my fellow fans, let’s meet at Nyamirambo on Saturday and pray for the military side to defeat Zamalek 2-0 in Cairo on Sunday.
