Dear Editor,

I am a regular reader of your news paper. Allow me to extend my dissatisfaction to the general public about the ongoing photographing exercise in Nyarugenge district.

I have learnt through your paper that there is a low turn up of people for the programme for the new electronic IDs.

Let me remind them that the document they are neglecting is essential in one’s daily life because it is not so easy to access a public service without explaining who you are and that’s what an Id is meant for.

Service like mutuelle de sante, passports, and employments are given to us simply because our identities are clearly understood, how can anyone be given a position of responsibility without thorough understanding of his/her identification? It’s not easy.

I also remind you that you are neglecting part of your life.

Let’s support the government to help us through acquiring these new IDs.

Self identification might be the ultimate goal of this programme but of course, other benefits are attached.

Nyarugenge.
