Editor,

The whole world began the week with news of the death of Osama Bin Laden, one of the world’s most notorious terrorists.

As expected, most people in the world treated the news with jubilation (unless one was a terrorist).

In the United States of America, people converged in front of the White House long before President Obama made the announcement.

In the Arab world, where one would expect the Saudi-born terrorist to enjoy some support, streets were teeming with masses celebrating the death of a man who killed thousands through his wicked campaign.

Back in the region, Kenya and Tanzania had a reason to cheer, having suffered greatly as a result of the August 7 1998 bombings that hit the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar.

Most importantly, Bin Laden’s death should be a lesson to other terrorists that their days are numbered.
