THE FIFTH SEASON of the Kiss Summer Awards is almost here with seven categories, and with one nominee in each category working away with the award. During Kiss FM radio programs they announced the nominees in all categories.

The annual awards are an initiative of Kiss FM, a Kigali-based entertainment radio station, that recognises the best music artistes and honor those who have been instrumental in changing Rwanda’s music space throughout the summer period.

Last year the winners of the fourth Kiss Summer Awards were announced in a physical ceremony for the first time. They have been giving out the awards in recognition of the best songs, performing artistes and producers since 2018. The have as well acknowledged the accomplishments of individuals who were instrumental in advocating for the music industry.

Nominees will be recognised in seven categories namely ‘Best Artiste, Best Producer, Best New Artiste, Best Female Artiste, Best Song, Best Album and the Life Time Achievement award.

Best Song

The songs nominated in this category includes ‘Inana’ by Chris Eazy, ‘Muzadukumbura’ by Nel Ngabo ft. Fireman, ‘Joli’ by Kenny Sol, ‘Mi casa’ by Christopher and ‘Agatunda’ by Afrique.

Best Female Artiste

In this category we have five talented female artistes like Marina, Vestine and Dorcas, Bwiza, Alyn Sano and Ariel Wayz.

Best New Artiste

Among many fast rising artistes only five were lucky to be nominated in this year’s kiss summer awards. These artistes include Yampano, Bwiza, Okkama, Chris Eazy and Afrique.

Best Producer

Producers Clement, Element, Niz Beatz, MadeBeats and Santana Sauce will compete against each and only one producer will be awarded as the Best Producer of the year 2022.

Best Artiste

The nominees in this category include some of the big names of the Rwandan music industry like Nel Ngabo, Kenny Sol, Juno Kizigenza, Christopher and Chris Eazy.

Best Album

Albums nominated in this category includes ‘KemoTherapy’ by BullDogg, ‘Did’ by Kivumbi King, ‘Twaje’ by Yvan Buravan, ‘RNB360’ by Nel Ngabo and ‘ Goligota’ by Mr Kagame.

The radio station is yet to announce how the public will vote and more details of the awards.
