The Rwanda National Examination Council (RNEC) has confirmed additional 19 national examination papers for all A’ Level candidates.

The move, which came into effect last academic year, brings the cumulative number of S.6 examination papers to151.

National examination officials say it is intended to encourage knowledge diversity on the part of students.

"This reform is part of education standards we are looking to which will help provide relevant skills to our students” RNEC Executive Secretary, John Rutayisire, said.
However, he did not give details of the newly introduced subjects.

But that figure is only cumulative and covers all the subjects taught in Senior Six classes or the equivalent in all schools, meaning no student can ever study or do all those subjects during examinations.

An individual candidate sits for a small fraction of the total examination papers, and the exact number of papers one sits for depends on which option one is offering.
