KIGALI - Five men are being detained at Gikondo police station after allegedly being found with smuggled goods.
The items included Uganda Waragi, clothes and ladies’ footwear.

According to Police, three of the suspects were arrested on Friday while the other two were arrested yesterday.

"The law is clear and our strategies shall not change; we don’t allow smuggled goods in our country. We shall continue to hunt them down,” Robert Mugabe, Director of Revenue Protection Department, in Rwanda Revenue Authority, said in an interview.

"We are aware that there are many smugglers and we are doing all we can to fight and stop this habit”.

He added that they are carrying out investigations and named Eugene Bayingana and Edward Minega to be the masterminds of the smuggling ring.
