A two-day holidaymakers’ concert held at Motel Rubavu in Rusizi concluded last Monday. 

Both concerts were well attended, as revellers flocked in record numbers to witness some of the country’s biggest names in the music scene.

The performers included Tom Close, Uncle Austin, Dream Boys, J. Polly and T-Max from Burundi, while Rusizi’s upcoming artistes curtain-raised the gig.

Fans sang along and danced to numerous hits as artistes belted out their hits and rare dance moves.

The ‘Sibeza’ star kept switching from his old to new tracks but fans went in the overdrive when he sang ‘Umunyarwandakazi’, a hit featuring Uganda’s Good life crew.
 
"People don’t often get so crazy but their reception shows how much they appreciate the artiste and the music,” Tom Close said.

Uncle Austin’s ‘Nakurava’ and ‘Nzakwizirikaho’ hits sent the crowd wild, while ‘Bella’ by Dream Boys was the crowd’s favourite.

"We count this audience as additional voters for the SALAX awards nominations, because we were selected in the Best Group and Best Song of the year categories,” Platini from the Dream Boys said.

Meanwhile, Rusizi’s upcoming artistes were overexcited after performing alongside the local celebrities.
