According to Philip Nzaire, the head of quality assurance at RBS, the month-long training will be conducted in all districts.
"The main objective of this training is to sensitise local authorities and the business community to reach the certification level and to ensure that Rwandan products can compete with other products in the region,” he said.
He pointed out that participants would be trained on relative standards and packaging of locally made products and are expected to impart the same knowledge to local residents in their respective communities.
Nzaire said that the training would enable traders in the country to get more access to the regional market.
The RBS official noted that they would encourage sector authorities to have a database of all factories operating in their jurisdictions to easily supervise their performance .
He said that the training would also attract members of the Private Sector Federation, security authorities, and officials from the Ministry of Commerce.
