WHAT is the way forward for Rayon Sport? That is the question running in the minds of many club fans after yet another defeat in the Primus League.

The Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat against Etincelles on Sunday; their third consecutive loss to drop to 7th place on the league table- an all time low for a club with six league titles.

Rayon’s dream of finishing second in the league now looks a tall order because the club trails second placed SC Kiyovu by 12 points with just seven games to go.

The current crisis at the club is living proof that having lots of money does not necessarily translate into trophies.
When local media mogul Albert Rudatsimburwa took over the club management early this year, he promised among other things, a second place finish, enough finances to run the club, and bringing in top quality players and coaching staff.

Only one of the three has been achieved, the club has managed to pay their players and coaching staff promptly.

After flirting with coaches like Raoul Shungu, Andy Mfutila and Sam Timbe, the blues later settled for a fitness coach-Jean Pierre Ernzen, who has no previous coaching experience and the results have been crystal clear- one point in five matches.

However, with seven games to play and still have a genuine shot at silverware in the MTN Peace Cup, it is not all gloom for the blues after reports surfaced over the weekend that the club will snap up Kiyovu coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira for the reminder of the season.

Inside sources at the club have revealed that the former APR and Atraco coach will be unveiled today.

The club is also understandably planning to spend big in the transfer market in July in preparation for the 2011/12 season.
