Bishop Louis Muvunyi, who led prayers at St Etienne Anglican Cathedral, Biryogo, urged the congregation to always be the light of the nation, by being exemplary citizens.
"Jesus’ death and resurrection should teach us - as Christians - to be renewed and this will enable us to succeed in everything we do in our daily lives,” Muvunyi said.
Apostle Paul Gitwaza of Zion Temple said that the Easter festive period is a very significant day for believers because it represents redemption.
"On this day, we remember when Christ overcame death and delivered us from the grip of sin,” Gitwaza said.
In Remera, Apostle Joshua Masasu, the founder of Evangelical Restoration Church said that Easter is a special event where Christians and Rwandans should draw a lesson of doing great things in their own lives, which would enable them achieve sustainable development.
He added that Jesus’ death and subsequent resurrection should help Christians come out of bondage of sin and always work hard.
He asked the congregation to love one another and fight against the genocide ideology and strive to ensure that the Genocide does not happen again.
