The Ministry of Disaster Preparedness and Refugee affairs (MIDMAR), Friday concluded a three-day training in fire safety management.The training was conducted by international experts from Mugolds, a London-based company that provides fire safety solutions in various countries.

The experts who were hired by the ministry, sensitized stakeholders in various areas, especially the use of machines to fight fire, causes of fire as well disseminating awareness to the public.
According to Justin Kayira, the Director Disaster Management in the ministry, the government recently purchased five fire fighting equipment.
"They will be used in fire fighting.
We have not been having these fire machines and I am optimistic that they will assist us protecting us,” he disclosed to Sunday Times.
Jean Fidel Uwayezu, the General Manager Top sec security company who was among the trainees, commended MIDMAR for conducting the training saying that they expect to apply what they had learnt.
"We have learnt how to protect our buildings by using these machines and I am intending to train my workers so that if fire brakes they can be able to fight it.”
