This letter is with reference to your lead story in yesterday’s issue of The NewTimes entitled "Sezibera sworn-in as new EAC Secretary General. I congratulate Dr.Richard Sezibera on his new appointment.

There was a considerable amount of debate about this key position, but now that Rwanda has rightly secured this post, it is my firm belief that all the EAC countries will extend their full support to Dr. Sezibera and his team so that the EAC emerges as the prefererred region for trade, tourism and investment.
 
I trust Dr. Sezibera. He is an accomplished diplomat and very charismatic, eloquent Medical doctor. His experience as an ambassador of Rwanda to Washington and a special Presidential envoy to the Great Lakes Region would help him guide the EAC to greater heights.

I wish Dr. Sezibera every success in his new position.
