The Minister of Health, Dr. Richard Sezibera was, today, sworn-in as the new EAC Secretary General, by the Registrar of the East African Court of Justice, Dr John Ruhangisa.Dr Sezibera, was appointed by the bloc’s 9th extra-ordinary Heads of State Summit currently sitting in Dar-es-Salaam.Dr. Sezibera replaces Tanzanian diplomat, Ambassador Juma Mwapachu. Sezibera, a suave and eloquent Medical doctor has, among other posts, served as Rwanda’s ambassador to the United States and a special Presidential envoy to the Great Lakes Region, before taking up the health portfolio in 2008.Ends
