Among the 30 Rwandan models who were selected during the pre-selection ceremony earlier this month, only six were selected at the contest’s final stage held at Olympic Hotel, Kimironko.
The six contestants of Rwanda’s Global Top Model will get a chance to participate at some of the most prestigious runways in the world to be held in Dubai and Italy this year namely; the Dubai International Fashion Week, The Look of the Year and World Top Model.
The top six selection which was based on three models with most public votes and three selected by judges saw Kenson Munyana, Laura Sarah, Diane Ngabonziza, Amelia Mwiza, Rwemerakurinda Mac Alan and Nshogoza Jean make it to the finals.
The panel of judges consisted of Miss Globe Rwanda 2021 Stella Matutina Murekatete, fashion models trainer Nadine Uwiduhaye and Daniel Kwizera, a designer.
According to Paulette Ndekwe, the organizer, on March 3, a final winner’s dinner and send off ceremony will be held to announce which fashion runways each will join and the dates after a confirmation of those world fashion events.
"At the Gala dinner we will also have a meeting with winners and their parents to confirm to each winner which World Fashion event that they will join and ensure that their parents are supporting them through this,” said Ndekwe.
Organised by Embrace Africa, the modelling contest aims at sending Rwandan models to World fashion events that have developed famous top models like Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen who are among the three top paid models in the world.
