I have reliably learnt that Rusesabagina, last Saturday in South Africa, met members of the "Gang of Four” as the Kayumba/Karegeya group is now commonly known. This, however, is no surprise as indeed: birds of the same feathers flock together.
Rusesabagina had his glory times, thanks to a Hollywood movie that made him an illegitimate hero in the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.
He used his ill-gotten fame to trot the world, fundraising and spreading the Genocide ideology to unsuspecting audiences. But as the saying goes, "you can lie to some people some of the time, but not to all the people all the time”.
He opportunistically used his ill-gotten wealth and ‘fame’ to try and hoodwink the international community as well as some Rwandans in the Diaspora in the hope of becoming an acclaimed unifying choice for all the subversive Rwandan groups.
He initially operated under the cover of being a humanitarian, but this did not take long as the real him got known to his initially unsuspecting audiences that has lately shunned him in various milieu where he has tried to market himself through organized seminars and presentations on Rwanda.
One such a presentation I was lucky to attend and witness his overwhelming humiliation first hand in North America. Among many other recent cases, he was also on May 12, 2010, also expected to speak at the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, but cunning that he is, he sensed the serious opposition that was put up against the event by the peace lovers in the vicinity and claimed he had fallen sick.
Consequent to his systematic disappointments, he is now up and about to show the real him, an evil politician with links to indicted individuals like Kayumba and the FDLR, which is a renown genocidal force that has been terrorizing the Great Lakes region since 1994.
Indeed, after amassing hefty sums of money on a forged profile of his role in the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, Rusesabagina invested in the PDR-Ihumure party, composed of ideologues of Hutu extremists and Genocide suspects.
He has since been trotting the world, spreading negative propaganda against the Rwandan Government while subtly portraying himself as the only effective alternative to the Rwandan leadership.
PDR-Ihumure has, like other Rwandan subversive groups in western capitals, been involved in machinations to deny prior preparation of the Genocide, and depict it as a mere product of a popular furor caused by the death of President Habyarimana.
That is why the fabricated "hero”, after aligning with the likes of Mushayidi (sentenced for life in September 2010) and other insignificant disgruntled individuals to demonize the Rwandan government, they proceeded to create a sort of platform consisting of Ingabire’s FDU-Inkingi (still awaiting judgment over various crimes), Rusesabagina’s PDR-Ihumure and Mushayidi’s Partenariat-Intwari in a move aimed at ensuring better coordination to achieve their evil intentions against Rwanda.
It is no wonder that Rusesabagina cunningly chose to stay away as his accomplices Ms. Ingabire Victoire came to Rwanda in January 2010 while Mushayidi was arrested in Burundi in March 2010. I believe he most likely encouraged them to come into the region in his characteristic double-crossing strategy, to opportunistically harvest from the best that would come his way in line with his evil ambition.
As it appeared that his previous investment went to waste following the arrest of his accomplices that are now in custody in Rwanda, Rusesabagina has most opportunistically found another band wagon to jump into.
The "Gang of Four”, renegades condemned for various crimes in Rwanda and sought by Interpol, desperately needed someone to help their names not disappear into oblivion.
With no other argument other than the shared hate for the Rwandan leadership, hiding away from justice and too much ambition for power, the Gang of Four formed the so-called political party, Rwanda National congress (RNC), and with shared interests, found a best ally in Paul Rusesabagina.
To the outer public however, their rather simplistic logic is thus: they portray themselves as Tutsi and former high profile RPF members and Rusesabagina is portrayed as a moderate Hutu who saved some one thousand Tutsis in a movie. This backward and quite questionable background is a unifying factor, at least according to their sickened minds.
One could wonder; who of the two sides is running the show or who is fooling who? But they, at least for now, both ultimately share the same agenda; to keep themselves in the spotlight they are seized with, trying to tarnish the image of Rwanda and mainly of its leadership, while also shamelessly mobilizing all evil groups and individuals to join them in their scheme.
Obviously, Rusesabagina’s meeting with Kayumba Nyamwasa and Patrick Karegyeya, is intended to design strategies to mobilize more extremist ethnic Hutus to join the RNC wagon as many have been challenging the genuineness of the "Gang of Four” whenever they have pretended to be defending what they call "discriminated” Hutus in the current Rwandan government.
Though without effect in current Rwanda, this opportunistic strategy of ‘the Gang of Four’, is ethnic segregation at its best, and a total breach of the Rwandan Constitution.
While Rusesabagina’s relations with the genocidaires, including the FDLR terrorists, is an established fact — whether by the United Nations Organization or from testimonies by former FDLR members — both have recently revealed that the "Gang of Four” has lately relentlessly been trying to coalesce with them.
This thus serves as another convergence of interests and strategy between Rusesabagina, the Gang of Four, FDU-Inkingi and other smaller subversive groups.
Indeed, the UN Panel of Experts on DR Congo reported on November 29, 2010 that "…according to credible testimony from various sources, former CNDP officers have been in contact with Rwandan political dissidents in South Africa, including Patrick Karegeya, the former head of Rwandan intelligence, and Lieutenant General Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa…”
According to the same report, the Group of Experts directly witnessed a conversation between Karegeya and former CNDP FARDC officers in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in September.
According to United Nations sources and combatants interviewed by the Group of Experts, Kayumba may have sent an emissary to meet with FDLR, FPLC and Mai Mai leaders in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in February.
The Group has received numerous credible reports of contacts aiming to reunite FDLR-FOCA and RUD-Urunana initiated by Felicien Kanyamibwa, who is based in New Jersey. His brother, Emmanuel Munyaruguru, who is the RUD representative in Norway, was chosen to mediate between the parties.
A former FOCA combatant close to "Colonel” "Kalume” Nzabamwita, commander of the Reserve Brigade, confirmed that FOCA-RUD reconciliation was the main topic of a week-long meeting of Commanding Officers held in April 2010…”
What is most unfortunate, however, is that despite this international acknowledgement of these individuals, themselves wanted by justice, as collaborating with a recognized terrorist group, the same individuals continue to trot freely around the world propagating their Genocide ideology and mobilizing for support against Rwanda.
Beware you the Gang of Four and your cohorts, Rwandans are now fully aware of your evil intentions and what you represent for their cherished trend of national development. Moreover, it won’t take long before the well-intentioned members of the international community discern your true worth. Your days are numbered, better be warned!
