The event also serves as a warm up to the KCB Rwanda Open slated to run from May 25-29 at the Kigali Golf Club.
The KCB Group today announced a sponsorship deal of Kshs 8.7 million for the East African Golf Tour 2011 Series in February.
The tour, which draws both amateur and professional golfers, covers a total of eight months and promises to be competitive and attractive the tournaments are held in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
The KCB East African Golf Tour, Kenya’s premier golf championship modelled along the Sunshine, Asia, and European and US PGA tours – comprises three regional events in Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda with a prize fund of KShs1 million each.
