Applying effort and ideas leads to normal results in any firm. Businesses that grow or improve, have understood the value of innovation, by investing in new ideas, time, money, resources, and systems.

Innovation can be defined as the hands-on execution of ideas that result in the introduction of new goods or services or enhancement in offering goods or services.

Experts say that innovation is the advance of new ideas or the development of existing ideas. Being innovative at work means that you contribute ideas and solutions to workplace challenges.

Both employees and employers are required to be part of providing ideas that can see the company bettering, by highlighting values, tools, or products that add value to an organisation- thus improving productivity, and up surging income.

According to Jean Pierre Gahigi, a communications specialist, it is imperative to boost motivation and a positive attitude as that way, workers will not dwell on the challenges, but will rather seek means to find solutions to the problems.

For him, workers that value their jobs, find the need to incur any efforts or information that would make the company better than it was years back, which isn’t the case with demotivated workers as they may not feel as part of the company, a thing that may hinder them from contributing to its growth.

He carries on that positivity is key, as it assists workers to be more assured about their ideas or decisions. Also, working as a team encourages co-workers to brainstorm and come up with amazing ideas between themselves.

Gahigi states that managers should organise or encourage employees to attend workshops and trainings on innovations, as that way, they would be equipped with skills and knowledge to think innovatively, as some tips don’t happen just like that.

According to Indeed Career Guide, a career advice platform, you ought to broaden your professional network. This is a group of social and work-related contacts who you can reach out to concerning jobs, industry questions, learning opportunities or advice. You can stretch your professional network by using social media, attending workshops or events, enrolling in classes or educational programs and connecting with co-workers are colleagues.

"Expanding your professional network can provide you with access to new ideas, innovative technology and activities or programs to expand your creativity, positivity innovation in the workplace.”

Emmanuel Rwozi, a marketing expert in Kigali stresses that don’t be discouraged by what didn’t work in the past, but rather, identify why it failed, and work as a team to research how other companies have moved forward, past their mistakes, losses and worse more.

He carries on that sometimes creativity starts by accessing your competitors’ services and products and creating means to outcompete them.

Rwozi points out that attempt for process improvement, comprises the business practice of recognising, scrutinizing, and refining existing business procedures to boost performance, encounter best practice values, or merely increase eminence and user involvement for customers.

"New ideas can be invented if all employees are given an opportunity to innovate, it is through diverse ideas that the best ones can be chosen. Encouraging employee participation can result to fresh perspectives. Bosses should act on employees’ ideas but not just leave them hanging. For example, by further discussing them during meetings, and sharing them with new people or customers to hear their feedback,” he states.

Experts emphasise that companies need to approve a swift mindset and cheer their employees to become vibrant, instead of stagnant. They can work independently at their desk, collaborate with peers in a different space, for a change of scenery, and find inspiration in a pragmatic setting.
