USC Shoah Foundation Institute will on April 12 screen the Award-winning Rwandan documentary ‘ISETA-Behind the Road Block’ to mark the 17th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

ISETA-Behind the Road Block’ is a story about the extraordinary journey of Juan Reina, the original photographer, who captured the killings, as he returns to Rwanda to revisit the people and events he caught on film.
The screening is facilitated by Eric Kabera, the film’s producer, who is currently in Los Angeles in the US, where he is working on a training collaboration between USC and Rwanda’s KWETU Film Institute.

Inspired by his experience in making Schindler’s List, Steven Spielberg founded the USC Shoah Foundation Institute in 1994 to gather video testimonies from survivors and other witnesses of the Jewish Holocaust.

Today, the Institute reaches educators, students, researchers, and scholars on every continent, and supports efforts to collect testimony from the survivors and witnesses of other Genocides.
