RULINDO District, on Wednesday, donated 113 cows to vulnerable genocide survivors to help them improve their standard of living. According to the Mayor, Justus Kangwagye, the donation was aimed at uplifting the beneficiaries as well as comforting them during the ongoing commemoration week.

According to the Mayor, Justus Kangwagye, the donation was aimed at uplifting the beneficiaries as well as comforting them during the ongoing commemoration week.
"We want these people to live healthy lives and to show them that government really cares for them,” said Kangwagye. The beneficiaries were selected from 7 sectors of the district.
Speaking at the event, Aime Bosenibamwe, the Governor of Northern Province, commended the district for its contribution towards the cattle stocking programme. He called on the beneficiaries to take care of the cows so that their off-springs can benefit other needy residents.
"You should look after these cows very well, think about your brothers and sisters who are in need. We need to be empowered economically in a collective manner,” said Bosenibamwe.
The District also built a special structure to host genocide related materials such as photos, weapons used during the genocide.
