NYAGATARE—An 18-year-old man is currently detained at Nyagatare Police Post for allegedly defiling a five-year old girl.

Donat Bihoyiki, of Tabagwe sector in Nyagatare, is alleged to have defiled the victim after luring her to his house.

"He convinced the child and took her to his house and defiled her,” a Police official said.

Speaking to The New Times at the Police Post, the suspect confessed to the offence.

"I seduced the child to join us where we were playing cards. I later took her to a nearby shop and bought her chewing gum, then forced her into sex,” he said.
 
Bihoyiki, was arrested after the victim raised an alarm which attracted neighbors.
