Editor,

Allow me, through your newspaper to commend whoever had a hand in the arrest of Tito Barahira, a former Bourgmestre (Mayor) of Kabarondo Commune in the former Kibungo Prefecture.

His arrest is, indeed, a big blow to other genocide suspects still at large. Many Genocide suspects fled the country for fear of being arrested for their role in the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.

Some have been arrested but others are still hiding in several countries. Some have managed to evade justice by changing their identity.

However, I believe that they will hide but no matter how long it takes they will one day be arrested. All countries have an obligation to have all these suspects arrested and tried.
