GATSIBO-Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), in collaboration with Rwanda Women Network, donated solar energy panels, bicycles and mobile phone handsets to selected residents of Murambi sector in Gatsibo district.

The beneficiaries, under ‘Public policy Information Monitoring and Advocacy (PIMA) project, are charged with assessing service delivery among grassroots leaders. The project operates in Gasange and Murambi sectors.

Handing over the donation yesterday, Phillip William Atkins, NPA Country Director, said that he was very honoured, on behalf of NPA, to be part of the support of development activities in the district.

"This is a fascinating project that builds strong partnership between the government, citizens and NPA,” he said.

Peninnah Abatoni, who represented Rwanda Women Network, said that the donation will improve communication and lighting challenges for beneficiaries.

"We decided to give them these equipment to ease issues of electricity, transport and communication,” she said.

Delphine Mukamurida, one of the beneficiaries who received solar energy and a bicycle, thanked the donors and said she will share the donation with her neighbours."I will use this solar energy with my neighbours,” she said.
