SILVERBACKS head coach Gerard Nsenga has made it clear that anything short of silverware in next month’s Nile fun rugby 7s will be a failure for the team.

The annual one-day tournament is slated for April 22 at Dam Waters Ground, Jinja, Uganda.

Nsenga, who is planning to field a number of youngsters, reckons that the team will still be strong enough to win the competition.

"I don’t expect anything short of the Main Cup. Last year we reached the Bowl final but I believe we have the resources this time round to go all the way,” Nsenga said.

A provisional 20-man squad has started training started at Rugunga ground.

Top clubs from Uganda and Kenya are expected to compete and according to the organizers, IRB (International Rugby Board) rules for sevens-a-side will be applicable.

The Silverbacks are expected to jet in this morning after a delayed flight from Hong Kong.

The team settled for 3rd place in the Hong Kong 10s after beating Australian side Double Bay 33-7 in the third-place playoff.
