A two-day Reggae concert in Rusizi ended on a high note, leaving thousands of Reggae fans yarning for more.

The concert was organised by Juice 7 Production and Rubavu Motel and it featured various Reggae artists: Natty Dread Mitali, Holy Jah Doves, Ras Banamungu, Jean Paul and Pacco Production. Also in action were Congolese artists, Elion and Gasto Rwaka.

Motel Rubavu was crammed with a mixed crowd of Rwandans and Congolese, who were treated to different Reggae hits.

With his unique hair hairstyle (amasunzu), Ras Kayaga of Holy Jah Doves, pulled out an entertaining and quality performance. The crowd went wild when he sang ‘Maguru’, while Natty Dread and Ras Banamungu equally did a great job.

"Both the performance and turn-up were superb,” Ras Kayaga said.

Natty Dread added: "I was impressed by the great turn up and I’ll always come back whenever my Rusizi fans invite me.”

The Reggae star further advised Rusizi artists to start practicing live performances to develop their talent.

Meanwhile, Juice 7 Productions told The New Times that the company intends to invite Uganda’s well-known musician, Jose Chameleon, to perform in Rusizi in May.
