Dr. Gaspard Ntahonkiriye’s outstanding album launch

Forget about some musicians, such as, Rwanda’s Dr. Claude or Uganda’s Dr. Chameleon who claim to the doctors, by attaching the title ‘Dr’ to their stage names. This one is a professional doctor (gynecologist) and a musician in his own league.

Last Friday, Dr Gaspard Ntahonkiriye, launched his debut ‘Iragi rya data’ at Laico Hotel in Kacyiru. His concert was attended by thousands of his fans who came from different parts of Kigali.

Clad in complete traditional wear, Dr Ntahonkiriye, walked to the stage and belted out most of his singles on the album, including ‘Baramugaya’, ‘Uno munsi uraza’, ‘Ndakugaye’, ‘Mp’iyo nanga nigire’ and ‘Amasho.’

"I’m very happy people came in big numbers. I didn’t know it would pull such a big crowd,’ Dr Ntahonkiriye said.
The concert started at 7 p.m and featured ‘Intwari’, a traditional dance troupe which performed incredible Rwandan and Burundian traditional dances.

In attendance were high-ranking Rwandan government officials, Chief Justice, Aloysie Cyanzayire, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascène, among others. The Burundian Ambassador to Rwanda, Serge Karonkano also attended.
