A Rwandan peacekeeping force in Darfur, based in El Fasher super camp (Rwanbatt25 base camp), were Wednesday awarded the UN/AU medal.The ceremony were presided over by the Deputy Joint Special Representative (DJSR), Mohamed Yonis and the UNAMID Force Commander, Lt Gen P.Nyamvumba.

The ceremony were presided over by the Deputy Joint Special Representative (DJSR), Mohamed Yonis and the UNAMID Force Commander, Lt Gen P.Nyamvumba.
In his speech, YONIS commended Rwanbatt25 and other Rwanda battalions for their commitment, hard work and maximum co operation with the Darfurians and other UNAMID members.
Gen. Nyamvumba also thanked Rwanbatt25 for their discipline and hard work.
The Rwanbatt25 Commanding officer Col. Emmanuel Karemera thanked the DJSR and the force commander and other dignitaries who attended the ceremony saying that almost 65% of their work had been completed.
The ceremony ended the dignitaries planting trees of remembrance. Other Rwandan battalions deployed in Darfur had been recognized earlier where Rwanbatt22 deployed in Zalinge were awarded on January 27, Rwanbatt23 based in Zam Zam on February 1 while Rwanbatt24 in Kabkabiya got their medals on March 11.
