BURUNDI’s national team wants a win against home side Amavubi Stars this afternoon when the two rivals clash in the 2012 Group H Nations’ Cup qualifiers at Nyamirambo stadium.

The Burundian delegation arrived in the country yesterday for today’s crucial tie and has vowed to play for three points.

Coach Adel Amrouche said yesterday, "This is a tough match since Rwanda is hungry for success. But we are here to win so that we could boost our chances of qualifying for the finals.”

There have been only previous meetings in friendly international and the East and Central African Senior Challenge Cup, giving the match-up in Kigali an extra spark.

While Rwanda called only two professional players in Patrick Mafisango (Tanzanian) and Elias Uzamukunda (France), Burundi boasts of seven professionals in their ranks.

They include; Saido Ntibazonyiza  (Cracovia/Poland), Dugarry Ndabashinze (RC Genk/Belgium), Nahayo Valery Twite (Kaizer Chiefs/South Africa), Faty Papy (Trabzonspor/Turkey), David Habarugira (Belgium), Vladimir Niyonkuru (Azam/Tanzania), Hussein Mbanza Hussein and Fuadi Ndayisenga (Kiyovu/Rwanda) and Kalim Nizigiyimana (unattached)

Burundi, who have one point in two matches played forced against Benin in September and then put up a spirited performance at home against group favourites Côte d’Ivoire in October, only to lose by a single goal.
