Amavubi-Junior World Cup campaign gets boost

KIGALI- A campaign - Rwanda Football Friday – geared towards garnering support for the Amavubui Junior team, at the Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico, will be launched today.The under 17 World Cup tourney will run June 10 –July 18, this year.Kumunini Ltd, in partnership with Kigali Serena Hotel, spearheaded the campaign.The Managing Director of Kumunini Limited, Martin Semukanya said, yesterday, that the campaign will run for 15 weeks starting today.

KIGALI- A campaign - Rwanda Football Friday – geared towards garnering support for the Amavubui Junior team, at the Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico, will be launched today.The under 17 World Cup tourney will run June 10 –July 18, this year.

Kumunini Ltd, in partnership with Kigali Serena Hotel, spearheaded the campaign.
The Managing Director of Kumunini Limited, Martin Semukanya said, yesterday, that the campaign will run for 15 weeks starting today.


"The aim is to showcase Rwanda’s unity for a national cause through football, as well as offer support for the Rwandan team as it gets ready to display another impressive performance at the World Cup finals,” Semukanya said.

He added that people will participate in the campaign by wearing their football jerseys every Friday at home, at work and on the streets.

According to Semukanya, everyone is a winner in this campaign as thousands of Rwandans are wearing national colour jerseys, flying high the flag on their cars and premises, the entire country will be winning: 
The junior Wasps finished runners-up to Burkina Faso in the 9th Africa U-17 Championship in January.

They will head to Europe for a one-month training camp before returning back to Kigali en-route to North America for the World Cup finals.
Rwanda, Congo Brazzaville, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso will represent the African continent at the global showpiece.
