"Like many other African countries, Rwanda has found it hard to participate in the World cross country championship so the whole idea is to help out in any way we can,” he said.
"We want to see new champions coming from North and West Africa.”
According to the Senegalese, the reason for staging the next edition in 2013 is to enable all nations prepare adequately.
Bydgoszcz and Punta Umbria have already declared interest in hosting the next edition according to IAAF general Secretary General Pierre Weiss.
IAAF slashes Rwanda’s quota
The body has slashed Rwanda’s quota at the World cross country championship to two.
Initially, IAAF has been footing half of the team’s expenses (airfare and accommodation) during the championship but the country’s inconsistency had provoked the body to revise their offer.
