Every year the month of March marks the annual celebration of the international day of the Francophonie, with the theme as Solidarity.
Among other exhibitors from Rwanda were; RwandAir, the national carrier and the Rwanda High Commission in Uganda, which showcased various well-conserved cultural items.
According to Simon Kayitana, The New Times Country Manager in Uganda, the exhibition was a "grand opportunity” for the paper to showcase the immense growth it has registered over the years.
He said that, at the paper’s exhibition stand, many visitors appreciated the well-balanced and researched analytical information the newspaper provides to its readers.
"The number of subscribers has tremendously risen and we keep registering new ones everyday. This is because our readership is not only regional but also international,” Kayitana said.
The French embassy’s press attaché, Achilles Kiwanuka, said that the Day is marked to express solidarity, unity and diversity among members of Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
