Over 770 graduate at ISAE

Musanze - The Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry-ISAE Busogo, held its fourth graduation ceremony, yesterday, with 777 students getting degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.The Minister of Education and Chancellor of ISAE, Dr. Charles Murigande, presided over the ceremony.

Musanze - The Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry-ISAE Busogo, held its fourth graduation ceremony, yesterday, with 777 students getting degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.

The Minister of Education and Chancellor of ISAE, Dr. Charles Murigande, presided over the ceremony.
At least 21% of the graduates were awarded degrees, while 608 received Advanced Diplomas. 

25 acquired Bachelor’s degrees in Veterinary Medicine, 56 in Agriculture Science, with options in Agro-Forestry, Irrigation and Drainage and Soil Conservation.

Others graduated with Advanced Diplomas in Animal and Crop Production, Food Science and Technology.
 During the ceremony, a new three-storied administrative building worth Rwf980 million was inaugurated.

In his address, Murigande urged the institute to partner with other universities and use the available resources, instruments and skills to find solutions to Rwanda’s development challenges.

"I commend ISAE lecturers who invest their time in carrying out research in soil, improvement of seeds; pest control, and render extension services to the community,’’ Murigande said.

He challenged the graduates to use the knowledge and skills acquired to turn challenges into opportunities, by exhibiting discipline, hard work and independent thinking.

The Rector of ISAE, Dr. Charles Karemangingo, commended the government’s support to education and other partners for enabling the institute to continue teaching, research, technology transfer and offering consultancy services.

"I believe you can contribute to a positive change in your communities. You have been empowered to be part of the privileged that should participate in guiding policy formulation and implementation.’’ the Rector told the graduates.
