Revise driving permit exams

Dear Editor,

I am pleased to note that driving permits are given only to those people who attend the driving permit exams and pass them well. However, I am not happy with the way these exams are set. They are made so difficult that one can re-do them as many as seven times with out passing any.

The exam tests require mastering the use of side mirrors for parking and reversing the vehicle, starting the vehicle and abrupt breaking at very steep hills without the vehicle sliding backwards. Other skills tested include observing road signs, parking points along the road, driving at the round- about and when to hoot.

I appeal to the traffic officers who give these exams not to make them too hard. I have for instance done the exam three times but I have still failed. Why is the exam made is hard for one to pass? This whole system needs to be made user friendly.
