Members of CLADHO, an umbrella body of Rwandan human rights organizations, have called on the media fraternity to always share information, which they say, will help them in their work.

The call was made by Guido Ngamije Kirabo, the Chairperson of CLADHO, during a meeting that brought together journalists from various media organizations.

"As ambassadors of Rwandans, especially those in the civil society, we found it necessary to have a partnership with the media fraternity so that both sides regularly share information,” Ngamije said.

He added that if they share information, media organizations will help civil society organizations get information regarding injustice.

Ngamije pointed out the need for civil society organizations and media practitioners to engage in reflections regarding inclusive partnership and proactive civil society engagement for the promotion of human rights and social justice through media as a good governance tool.

He also called for capacity building initiatives in utilization of the media to increase participation of civil society and the private sector in human rights and social justice development processes.
