RUSIZI – Police yesterday seized 85kgs of marijuana worth Rwf8 million in Rusizi district. The drugs were impounded in Mururu sector, loaded in a Toyota Corolla RAB 423 I, heading to Kigali. 

Police also arrested Samson Kwizera 25, and Wensislas Gahene 31, the tax driver. 
Police got facts from the local residents about the drugs.
 
"After the recent anti-drug week, residents are co-operating with the police to curb drug use and trafficking,” said Superintendent Innocent Semigabo, District Police Officer, Rusizi. 

It should be noted that Rusizi is often used as transit route for drugs from DR Congo.
