Junior Wasps 4-3 Rayon Sports

THE national U-17 team beat Primus National Football League side Rayon Sports 4-3 in their first build-up match as they continue preparing for the forthcoming Fifa Under-17 World Cup scheduled for June 18-July 10 in Mexico.

Head coach Richard Tardy fielded a second team which composed of new players including Mohammed Latifah (Bunamwaya), Azziz (Proline), Alex Mupenzi (Proline), Bright Haguma (SC Villa) and Samuel (Bolton youth academy).
The Blues also fielded a much younger side.

Heritier Turatsinze opened the scoring for the Junior Wasps with a well-taken free kick, but moments later Mohammed Mayanja equalized for Emmanuel Ruremesha’s league side.

Fifteen minutes to recess, Latifah curved in another fine free kick from the edge of the box to give the Tardy’s team the lead. After recess, Pascal Munyangodo netted the third goal before Isaac Muganza sealed the win from the penalty spot.

DR Congo’s Tombola Madengu scored a brace for Rayon.
The Junior Wasps are expected play two more build-up matches against Eric Nshimiyimana’s U-23 team on Saturday before taking on Sellas Tetteh’s Amavubi senior team early next week.

The team will relocate to Europe in April for further training before flying to Latin America in May for another training camp en-route to Mexico for the global showpiece.
