National V-ball team face NUR in friendly

THE National volleyball team will play a friendly match against volleyball champions UNR tomorrow as the team continues to shape up for the Zone 5 qualifier scheduled for March 23-30 in Kigali. The week-long tournament that also doubles as a qualifier for the All Africa Games is expected to attract 11 teams which include: Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Djibouti, Egypt, Tanzania, Somalia, and Eritrea.

THE National volleyball team will play a friendly match against volleyball champions UNR tomorrow as the team continues to shape up for the Zone 5 qualifier scheduled for March 23-30 in Kigali.

The week-long tournament that also doubles as a qualifier for the All Africa Games is expected to attract 11 teams which include: Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Djibouti, Egypt, Tanzania, Somalia, and Eritrea. 

The All Africa Games are scheduled to take place in Maputo, Mozambique in September.

The national team is under the tutelage of Kenyan coach Paul Bitok and Fidele Nyirimana, and the coaches have already trimmed down the playing staff to 13 from the provisional 19 man squad.

Volleyball squad:

Bonny Mutabazi (UNR), Leon Fidele Mutesi (APR), Vincent Dusabimana (UNR), Pierre Marchal Kwizera (Nyanza), Placide Madison Sibomana (Nyanza) and Bosco Mutabazi (UNR).

Others are:  Yakan Lawrence (APR), Theodore Muyango (College Inyemeramihigo), Eric Nsabimana (UNR), Olivier Ntagengwa (UNR), Flavien Ndamukunda (Nyanza), Christopher Mukunzi (KVC) a Aimable Mutuyimana (KVC).
