Editor,

Allow me to comment on a story that appeared in the yesterday’s issue of The New Times, titled "Tanzanians learn about school nutrition programme”.  It’s true that the school feeding programme has made a difference to the pupils and it’s not a surprise that Tanzanians are here to learn.

I wish, therefore, to commend the Ministry of Education for its efforts to ensure that our children get lunch and milk while at school.

The government’s programme-one Pint of Milk per Child-which kicked off in May, last year, has registered success. I hope this programme will be extended to other districts to benefit all children.

As a parent, I am happy that  our children are taken care of.
