Fina Bank pledged to finance medical insurance bill for 100 needy people for a period of one year in Rubavu district.
This gesture follows reports that Rubavu is among the districts with low medical insurance coverage.

"Less than 50 percent of residents in Rubavu have no health insurance due to lack of means. So, we decided to step in to help some people in extreme poverty as a way of giving back to society,” said Jean Philippe Gakuba Manzi, the acting Rubavu branch manager.

Gakuba also encouraged other institutions and individuals to reach out to the needy in society, saying it takes a little sacrifice of just Rwf1000 to enable one person get treated for a year.

Fina Bank also previously paid medical insurance for some poor people in Ruhango and Ngoma Didtricts.

"We decided to pay medical insurance because, without healthy people, there is no development for the nation,” added Gakuba.
