TANZANIA-BASED midfielder Patrick Mutesa Mafisango is expected to join Amavubi Stars training camp today ahead of next week’s 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier against Burundi.

Head coach Sellas Tetteh said yesterday, "He got his ticket today (yesterday) and we expect him to join the team tomorrow (today).”

"We are trying hard to get both Mafisango and Elias Uzamukunda on team as soon as possible such that we could assess their levels,” added the Ghanaian tactician, who has come under heavy scrutiny after failing to impress since taking over the reigns early last year on a two-year deal.

Tetteh’s would love to use all available opportunities to redeem Rwanda’s image by getting maximum points against Burundi next Saturday in Kigali.

Rwanda lost to Benin and Cote d’Ivoire in the opening matches of Group H, and know victory next weekend, could go a long way to revive their fading hopes of playing at the finals to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The team is currently holding training sessions at Kicukiro and Amahoro stadium respectively.
