KARONGI – The national water and power utility, Ewasa, is in the process to reward four stations that performed exceptionally well last year.

Statistical achievements compiled by the company ranked Rwamagana the best with 97.7 percent, Rulindo followed at 97.2% while Rubavu and Karongi scored 96.5% and 96.3%, respectively.

While presenting the award in Karongi district, the Director General, Yves Muyange, congratulated staff members and urged them to work even harder in order to achieve more.

"It is good that you have taken giant strides in providing excellent service and this should be an inspiration to you to achieve even higher... and yes, you can,” Muyange said.
He appealed for cooperation with the local population in order to build a firm foundation to foster socio-economic development.

"The service we provide is a very important tool in the development of the nation. We should capitalise on that by getting as close to the residents as possible,” he said.

Emmanuel Kalimunda, the Karongi branch manager, said that his team exceeded their target last year.
"It is very rewarding for one to be recognized as an exemplary performer,” said Kalimunda.
Last year, Karongi power station acquired over 1,000 new clients, 400 higher than its target.
