APR assistant coach Eric Nshimiyimana leads the U-23 team in his first program as head coach ahead of the 2012 Men’s Olympic qualifier against Zambia slated for March 27 in Lusaka.

Nshimiyimana, who was handed the task by the Ferwafa executive committee at the weekend, conducted his first training session yesterday. The former Amavubi Stars skipper will be assisted by AS Kigali head coach Thierry Hitimana while Rajab Muhabura is the goalkeeping coach.

The local football federation, Ferwafa summoned 23-man team that includes Bangladesh based striker Ismail Habumugisha. Other players on the team were drawn from local Primus league clubs as well as second division league.
Rwanda play away to Zambia in Lusaka on March 27 in the first round of the Olympic qualifiers.

The winner of the two-legged match will then proceed to the second round were the top 12 teams will progress into the third and final qualification round.

Here, teams will be divided into three groups of four. The winner in each group will qualify for the Olympics.
