Amavubi Stars head coach Sellas Tetteh wants to reedem the country’s image when Rwanda face-off Burundi in the 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier on March 26 in Kigali. The team entered camp at La Palisse hotel , Nyandugu yesterday.
Rwanda lost to Benin and Cote d’Ivoire in the opening matches of Group H and they will be hoping to record a home win against Burundi if the team is to get back in race to reach the 2012 Africa Nations finals which will be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Tetteh told Times Sport yesterday, "We need to redeem our image by getting a win against Burundi. Burundi will come with a lot of confidence, but Rwandans should also come and support their team such that we could win the game.”
A 24 man-team, which was summoned a week ago joined the camp yesterday minus Patrick Mutesa Mafisango (Azam) who is expected to report to camp this afternoon according to Tetteh.
France based Elias Uzamukunda, who plays for second division outfit AS Cannes will join camp on March 20, six days before the Burundi clash.
The other two players who have sneaked their way into the team are Abedi Said Makasi and Musanze’s impressive midfielder Adolphe Hakundukiza.
