The FBI National Academy Associates Africa Middle East International Re-trainer Conference for the year 2011 will be hosted by Rwanda National Police from 14-18 March at SERENA Hotel in KIGALI.  

National Academy Associates, Inc. is a non-profit international organization representing senior law enforcement professionals, who have graduated from the FBI National Academy.

They are dedicated to providing our communities and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement expertise through continuous training and education.

From its inception in 1935, the FBI National Academy has long been a vital element in the continuing improvement of law enforcement standards, knowledge and cooperation throughout the world.

The National Academy and the FBI’s "Field Police Training Program” provide a wide range of leadership and specialized training, as well as an opportunity for professional law enforcement officials to share ideas, techniques and experiences.
Over 42,000 students, representing 169 countries, have graduated from the FBI National Academy, including Rwandan Police officers.

The FBINA training creates a strong and cooperative bond among law enforcement officials throughout the world; the training also reinforces communication and commitment.

Meeting, exchanging ideas, forming friendships and solving problems - that is what the FBINAA is all about. The FBINAA takes the vision presented at the Academy and forges that vision into the realities of tomorrow’s law enforcement role.

The objectives of the 2011 FBINAA Kigali conference is to bring participants up to date with emerging trends and forces that impact global security; advance cooperation and collaboration among law enforcement agencies in addressing security challenges; and affirm our commitment towards a shared advocacy for peace and security in the Africa Middle East Region and across the globe.

The past five rotational conferences were hosted respectively by BOTSWANA (2010), Egypt (2009) Jordan (2008), Ghana (2007), and Morocco (2006).

While in Kigali, the 120 participants from 43 countries will have side programs that include country tour to Nyanza (Urukali), some will visit Mountain Gorillas, Akagera National Park. They will also visit Kigali Genocide Memorial and participate in a 5km run in Kigali Streets.

The conference is a very important occasion for Rwanda National Police members to interact with the FBI National Academy Associates.
