IT may be two weeks since Rwanda’s emphatic victory in the ICC Africa T20 Division 3 tournament in Ghana, but congratulatory messages are still coming in.

Africa Cricket Association (ICC-Africa) has congratulated Rwanda cricket team for putting on a good show at the tournament.

ICC’s Regional Development Manager for Africa, Cassim Sulimana, this week, congratulated the team upon their triumph in West Africa.

"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Rwanda team on their brilliant win in the final of the Pepsi ICC-Africa World Cricket League Division 3 T20. You have certainly done both your country and the African continent proud,” the letter addressed to Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) read in part.

Rwanda’s Ugandan counterparts (UCA) also commended the team for a job well done.

"The win was not only for Rwanda but also for the East Africa region,” UCA’s Justin Ligyalingi said.

After getting through their group unscathed, Rwanda beat first timers Seychelles in the final to qualify for the ICC Africa T20 Division 2 tournament slated for April in South Africa.

Chasing Rwanda’s score of 125runs, Seychelles fell eight runs short.
