Today we celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. In this special magazine edition, we highlight different dreams from women and men across all walks of life. Without dreams, ambitions cannot come to pass.

Therefore, these stories express the dreams that Rwandans have for their daughters.

There are countless reason why women should be empowered and National Development is one.

Rwanda’s population is mostly made of women who are also the larger labour force. Without their utmost contribution, development would be a far cry.

Providing equal opportunities for women in all sectors of the economy will produce vast results. If this is not convincing enough, take a look at Rwanda’s regional progress: We globally have the highest number of women in leadership, we have championed the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 5 race to reduce maternal and child mortality rates by 60 percent.

This can only be attributed to the leadership’s political will to include and encourage the women of Rwanda to participate and play their rightful role in society.

When you empower women, you empower a nation; similarly, when you invest in women, you invest in a nation.
