THE Council of East and central African Football Associations, Cecafa is expected to release fixtures for the upcoming Kagame club championship next week in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye told Times Sport yesterday that the fixtures and the tournament’s program will be released next week.

"We are on the verge of staging another memorable tournament,” he said, before adding, "Zanzibar will host the tournament and the fixtures will be out next week.”

The regional body delayed the release of the fixtures pending Mainland champions Simba and Rwanda’s APR involvement in the Orange Champions League.

While APR got knocked out on aggregates by Tunisia’s Club Africain (2-6), Simba progressed to the next stage were they play defending champions TP Mazembe.

This year’s club championship will be held in May and is expected to attract Kenya’s Ulinzi, Al Hilal of Sudan, Burundi’s Vital’O, Zanzibar Ocean View and reigning champions APR among others.
